Product Description:
The PMA23C-01100-00 is a brushless servomotor built by Pacific Scientific within the PMA Brushless Motors series. It is intended to drive axes that need repeatable positioning and velocity control in automated assembly lines, pick-and-place cells, and packaging equipment. By combining permanent-magnet rotor technology with resolver feedback, the motor allows closed-loop control from compatible drives and reduces maintenance compared with brushed designs.
This unit can deliver a continuous stall torque of 2.0 Nm and supports transient acceleration loads up to 7.2 Nm. To reach these torque levels, the windings draw a nominal stall current of 3.8 A RMS, and they are insulated for voltages up to 240 V AC maximum. Dynamic response is influenced by a rotor inertia of 0.055 × 10⁻³ kg·m², which makes the motor suitable for rapid start-stop cycles without excessive drive demand. Electrical power enters through a 6PP six-pin connector, which supports compact machine wiring. The resolver mounted on the rear end provides analog sine-cosine feedback for shaft position, while the smooth shaft simplifies coupling to gearheads or pulleys. A stack length code of 3 is used for the lamination height in this motor.
A 24 V brake holds the shaft during power loss so vertical loads remain stationary. The power and feedback plugs exit at a right-angle to the frame to clear adjacent modules in multi-axis carriages. The square housing measures 70 mm across flats and has a mass of 2.9 kg, allowing direct mounting to aluminum machine plates without auxiliary supports. Its square profile also helps fit the motor into compact slide and carriage assemblies. The motor has no special seals, blowers, or custom coatings, so the configuration remains simple for applications that match its voltage class and feedback type.
