Product Description:
The PMA23B-01100-00 is a brushless servomotor manufactured by Pacific Scientific for the PMA Brushless Motors series. It is intended for closed-loop positioning tasks in industrial automation where a compact form and repeatable torque are required. By combining an internal permanent-magnet rotor with electronic commutation, the unit supplies accurate rotary motion to indexing tables, pick-and-place heads, or light conveyor drives without the speed ripple common to brushed designs.
The motor produces a continuous stall torque of 2.0 Nm, which is the steady twisting force it can sustain indefinitely while its temperature remains within acceptable limits. When rapid acceleration is required, it can reach a peak torque of 7.2 Nm for brief intervals before thermal protection intervenes. The nominal stall current is 2.7 A RMS, so a drive rated above this value is required for full performance. The rotor inertia is only 0.055 kg·m² × 10⁻³, allowing fast reversals with minimal overshoot. An integrated 24 V brake clamps the shaft whenever control power is removed, preventing load drift on vertical or safety-critical axes. The smooth shaft interface simplifies coupling to gearheads or pulleys without requiring keyway alignment.
The winding has a maximum voltage of 240 V AC, allowing operation up to this threshold without overstressing the insulation. A square housing measuring 70 mm per side allows the motor to fit compact metric mounting patterns. Power is supplied through a 6PP six-pin connector positioned at a right angle to the shaft, easing cable routing in shallow enclosures. Resolver feedback supplies the rotor position required by the drive for closed-loop control. Stack length code 3 corresponds to the magnetic core depth used to achieve the stated torque ratings. With a mass of 2.9 kg, the motor remains light enough for installation on a moving axis.
