The SR3642-4982-7-56BC-CU is a continuous-duty motor from Kollmorgen with excellent performance. This motor replaces the standard wound field with permanent magnet fields. The permanent magnets have an anti-cogging property that assures you of smooth performance even when the motor is operating at a low speed. The standard operating speed of the motor is 1,750 RPM. The dynamic braking prevents demagnetization.
The DC motor has a high overcurrent capacity with 180VDC voltage rating, 0.5HP power rating, 2.6A continuous current rating and 40A peak current. The motor also features 18lb-in continuous torque, 7.6lb-in/A torque constant and 6.3lb-in inertia. The NEMA mounting style unit comes in a non-vented TENV enclosure that has a 56C frame size. It also encompasses Class H insulation. The SCR rated motor additionally houses a fused and rugged commutator, standard large sealed bearings and a polyester impregnated armature that renders electrical and mechanical integrity. The brush springs are fitted with field-replaceable brushes and render constant force apart from having a long life.
This permanent magnet DC motor has an overall diameter of 6.5 inches. The motor features four equally spaced 3/8-16 UNC-2B mounting holes. The knockout holes in the unit have diameters of 0.88 inches and 0.62 inches. The device is CSA Certified, UL Recognized and CE Marked. The motor is lighter, faster and occupies lesser space than wound field motors.
