The SR3642-4822-84-7-56HC-CU is one of the many continuous duty DC motors from Kollmorgen. The company has close to half a century’s experience of manufacturing permanent magnet DC motors. The unit has an operating speed of 1,750RPM. The motor also renders smooth performance when functioning at low speed due to the presence of the anti-cogging permanent magnets. The unit also prevents demagnetization with its dynamic braking capability. It features Class H insulation that offers assurance of safety especially when the motor is in use. This motor is used in multiple industries such as robotics, oil & gas, medical imaging, printing and more.
The continuous-duty motor features SCR rating and adheres to NEMA standards. The motor comes encased in a non-vented TENV factory assigned enclosure of 56C NEMA frame size. The unit renders excellent mechanical and electrical integrity because of the polyester impregnated armature that is used in the motor construction. The motor has a form factor of 1.4 and supports NEMA type mounting style. The permanent magnets contribute to not only increasing the efficiency of the device but also making it lightweight at the same time.
The DC motor is CE Marked, CSA Certified and UL Recognized. The motor operates at an ambient temperature of 40°C. It comes with an inbuilt fused and rugged commutator, as well as large sealed bearings. The unit also comprises brush springs with constant force, long life and field-replaceable brushes. The permanent magnets unit has a voltage rating of 90VDC, continuous current rating of 4.7A and power rating of 0.5HP. The bearing comes fitted with a 0.188” x 1.38” key.
