Product Description:
The PC844-XYZ-T is one of Pacific Scientific’s most modern and versatile servo drives released under the MA840 series. Boasting a sleek and compact chassis, this servo drive is well-suited for operation in industrial environments, typically exposed to dust and small amounts of moisture. During installation, this servo drive benefits from extra allowance on its rear end for efficient ventilation. As part of Pacific Scientific’s high-performance drive series, this tool is perfect for monitoring, powering, and adjusting output parameters of brushless servo motors. Like most servo drives manufactured under the PC800+ series, this module can operate at an ambient temperature of up to 40 degrees Celsius.
Alongside a compatible Computer Drive Module, the PC844-XYZ-T can perform advanced monitoring and control functions for the motor. Typically, servo drives such as the PC844-XYZ-T require a stable DC bus voltage and output a rotating three-phase power for the motor. To establish a reliable connection with the motor, this device must be connected to a reliable supply, the motor AC cables, and the feedback device. For most servo motors manufactured by Pacific Scientific, a feedback device is typically incorporated in the motor. For instance, most PMB motors by Pacific Scientific can come with a resolver, a Hall sensor, or a digital encoder.
The PC844-XYZ-T, like other PC8XX drives, offers connection ports for SERCOS and SERIAL communication. Specifically, this unit module by Pacific Scientific supports both RS-232 and RS-485 serial communication. With its dedicated terminals for regen, this module can be used for servo motors employing a holding brake. Similar to other servo drives available in the market today, most of the high signals in the PC844-XYZ-T’s feedback ports are in the 5VDC range.
