Product Description:

The Pacific Scientific PC844-001-T is an ultra-fast brushless servo drive of the PC800/PCE800 series, to be used in precise motion control applications.

Designed to provide both performance and efficiency, it accepts a broad control input voltage range of 85 to 265 VAC at 47 to 440 Hz or 130 to 370 VDC, so it can be configured to work with many different power infrastructures. As an input to the motor, it supports 180-265 VAC of three phases, generating a nominal bus voltage of 320 VDC when run on 240 VAC three-phase. The drive is designed to have very high dynamic performance, high current handling. Its peak output current is 21.2 A (5 seconds rms), and the continuous output current is 7.1 A when cooled by convection and 10.6 A when forced-air cooled. The design enables it to remain stable in constant-duty cycles and remain useful in responding to peak loads as well. It can operate up to 9.0 kW peak output with a constant output power of 3.0 kW at 240 VAC, and has a large selection of servo uses, both in terms of accuracy and strength.

One of its features is efficiency; the power stage has a peak of 98% at constant power, with the power stage having minimal energy loss and generation of heat. The drive will bring about an rms line current of 12 A at rated conditions, which is evidence of power being used optimally. The integrated shunt regulator has a peak regenerative energy of 12.8 kW within 500 ms and a sustained peak of up to 800 W. It is also able to handle up to 6% external duty cycles, making it efficient in the management of the energy. Bus capacitance energy rating 40 J at 320 V, provides stable voltages when changing load dynamically. The PC844-001-T has a ripple frequency of 16 kHz in its output current and thus offers high-speed, high-accuracy motor operation and is a good choice to use in high-speed, high-precision servo operation.
