Product Description:

The PC842-001-F is a brushless servo drive built by Pacific Scientific and positioned within the PC800-PCE800 Brushless Servo Drives series. Intended for torque, velocity, and position regulation on automated axes, it converts network motion commands into phase-controlled current for matched servomotors. This lets the drive keep shaft motion stable during indexing, speed changes, and hold states in packaging lines, pick-and-place robots, and material-handling stations. It serves as the link between a higher-level motion controller and the motor power stage, translating command data into controlled motor response. That role supports coordinated motion where several axes must react predictably to changing loads and timing demands.

A continuous output of 2.7 ARMS supports normal thermal operation, while short bursts reaching 5.3 ARMS provide added torque during acceleration or brief load changes. The velocity loop operates at more than 400 Hz, so commanded speed changes are followed with very little lag. Motion data and diagnostics travel over the SERCOS Network, allowing deterministic communication on a shared fiber-optic ring with other drives in the machine. The housing is only 88.1 mm wide, which allows dense side-by-side mounting in compact control enclosures. The narrow front profile also helps keep cabinet rows orderly when multiple axes are installed in one panel.

The chassis stands 198.1 mm tall and projects 158 mm from the panel surface, helping it fit cabinets with limited depth while still leaving room for cable bends and airflow. An included terminal block adapter and D-Sub feedback kit provides screw-clamp power connections and a molded feedback interface for organized wiring at the drive. The accessory set uses a consistent pinout style, which helps keep multi-axis wiring layouts uniform. Power and feedback terminations remain accessible from the front, which helps keep cabinet wiring organized during installation and later service access.
