Kollmorgen/Pacific Scientific is targeting various industries with the PC800 series. This series is being offered for its flexibility, speed, and functionality for global industries in the printing and material, manufacturing, electronic assembly, and packaging industries. PC800 servo drivers are all-digital solutions. Features include a digital resolver to digital conversion algorithm and a 400-Hz loop bandwidth. The servo drivers also have24-bit position resolutions, and for power, the series has an extensive torque range from 0.5 newton meter to 48.5 newton meter.
All servo drives under the PC800 series have two different power levels. One is a 3.6A continuous and 10.6A continuous; and two, a 21.2A peak RMS current. Users can even install an optional fan kit and advance antiresonance filters. These additional components will further assure the reliability of the servo drives for complicated mechanical systems. Based on the PC800 servo, the PC-834-101-N has a power level of level of 7.1 amperes (continuous) which peaks at 21.21 amperes. This power level works in the 25 degree Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius temperature range.
The dimensions of the PC-834-101-N are quite small, coming in at 3.5 inches in width, 8 inches in length and 6.25 inches deep. These dimensions are 40% smaller than previous servo drives. The PC-834-101-N feature a customization code (101) denoting “factory assigned.” The product does not come with any accessory. The PC-834-101-N is all-digital, with a SERCOS Network command interface designation. Other details of the command interface include RS-232/485, plus/minus 10V DC, and step/direction indexing.
