The PC833-XYZ-A is a high-efficiency brushless servo motor from Pacific Scientific's PC800/PCE800 product series.

It is intended to be dependable and precise while handling power in industrial automation. The model is developed to operate at a 240 VAC three-phase system and delivers a combination of performance and efficiency to many servo systems. To offer the reserve capacity needed for rapid acceleration or a sudden change in load, the drive maintains a peak output current of 15 A (0-pk) for up to 5 seconds. In operation, it can provide 3.6 ARMS equipped with convection cooling, and 5.3 ARMS equipped with forced-air cooling, providing flexibility in both thermal management conditions. Its operating power is equally strong, with an idealized maximum operating power of 4.5 kW and a system-level basic maximum of 3.15 kW at 240 VAC in the event of 5 seconds. The continuous power supply is 1.5 kW, which is a reliable choice to use on a long-term basis. Efficiency is one of its design features; to minimize power losses and heat generation, the power stage must be at 98 percent.

At rated continuous operation, the drive consumes about 6 A rms line current, which corresponds to optimal energy consumption. With a maximum external regeneration duty cycle of 6%, an integrated shunt regulator that can continuously manage 12.8 kW at 500 ms and 800 W responsively controls the regenerative energy. The bus energy absorption of a 320 V bus is 30 J, giving good stability in energy handling when operating dynamically. With a wide support of motor inductance between 2.0 mH to 2H line-to-line, the drive is compatible with a wide variety of different types of motors, and offers high-quality motor operation at 20 kHz ripple frequency, making it suitable to the best endeavors of fine motion control.
