Product Description:
The PC3406AI-001-E is a servo drive manufactured by Pacific Scientific for the PC3400 Servo Drives series. It serves as the power and control interface between the facility mains and a brushless servo motor, providing regulated current loops for precise speed and position control in automated assembly cells, conveyors, and similar industrial axes. The unit rectifies incoming AC power, charges an internal DC bus, and generates three sinusoidal outputs that follow command signals from a motion controller.
During steady-state operation, the power stage supplies a continuous phase current of 6 A RMS, enabling the motor to produce rated torque without overheating. The inverter can deliver up to 2.3 kW of mechanical power to the load, which is the maximum continuous shaft output available from the connected motor and gear train. The unloaded bus voltage rises to 1.4 times the nominal VAC, providing the voltage overhead required for field-oriented control. During rapid acceleration, the current limit extends to 12 A RMS, giving the motor short-term torque reserves for indexing movements or shock loads. The input section accepts utility supplies from 80 to 253 VAC, allowing operation across a broad input-voltage range without tap changes or jumper adjustments.
The control electronics synchronize with mains frequencies from 47 to 63 Hz and support single-phase or three-phase power. Reliable operation is supported at ambient temperatures from 0 to 40 °C; operation outside this range requires additional heat sinking or cabinet temperature control. Internal conformal coatings and sealed connectors tolerate 5% to 95% non-condensing relative humidity. The drive may operate at altitudes up to 3,300 ft without derating, with a 2% power reduction required for every additional 1,000 ft. Storage temperatures may range from -25 to 70 °C.
