The PC3403AD-001-R is a servo drive manufactured by Pacific Scientific for the PC3400 Servo Drives series. It regulates the current and voltage supplied to a compatible servo motor, allowing closed-loop axes in packaging, material-handling, and assembly equipment to follow commanded motion profiles. The drive converts incoming AC power into a controlled DC bus and uses pulse-width modulation to produce the motor output. This arrangement allows a higher-level controller to command position, speed, and torque while the drive manages power delivery to the electromechanical actuator.
The drive accepts single-phase or three-phase input power from 80–253 VAC at a frequency of 47–63 Hz. This broad input range supports several common industrial power systems without requiring a separate transformer when the available supply remains within the stated limits. The unit supports continuous shaft power up to 1.1 kW and supplies a continuous motor armature current of 3 A RMS. During short acceleration periods, the armature current can rise to 6 A RMS to provide additional torque. Under no-load conditions, the internal DC-link voltage rises to approximately 1.4 times the nominal AC input voltage. Appropriate supply protection, conductor sizing, and grounding are required for the selected input configuration.
Full rated operation is permitted through an installation altitude of 3300 feet. Above that baseline, available power must be reduced by 2 percent for every additional 1,000 feet to control thermal loading. Permissible operating humidity is 5% to 95% noncondensing, so the installation must prevent condensation and direct liquid exposure. The allowed operating temperature is 0 to 40 °C, and sufficient airflow must be maintained around the drive to prevent heat accumulation. When powered down for storage, the unit can tolerate temperatures from -25 to 70 °C. Cabinet placement should provide suitable clearance for ventilation while protecting the electronics from conductive dust, moisture, and accidental contact. The standard configuration does not require any special mechanical arrangement for normal installation within the stated operating limits.
