Pacific Scientific manufactures the OC950-504-01 positioning option card. This is a standard card that can help you to realize single-axis motion control. This part comes from a family of high performing parts that are economically priced. The unit can provide medium power and works with servo drives that work with 3 – phase permanent magnet motors with a brushless design.
Positioning option cards like the OC950-504-01 comes from a family of parts that were designed to focus primarily on medium to large volume OEM applications. The OC950-504-01 is made to utilize all-digital control featuring current loops with DSP based control. The software for the part comes preset with all application and system parameters. The unit also features auto-tuning done digitally which will allow for set up that is predictable and easy. The part also features a Digital (DRDC) converter to the advanced patented digital resolver with standard 5.3 are minute absolute accuracy along with a 24-bit position resolution. (The patent noted in US Patent # 5,162,798.) The part further features an advanced sinusoidal current control which uses a signature series. This helps with low torque ripple and can help to provide uniform control dynamics no matter what speed the shaft is operating at.
The OC950-504-01 features modular construction and there is an option for a removable option card so that configuration can be achieved easily. It utilizes the RS – 232/485 serial interface and has a single axis programmable position and also the SERCOS fiber optic interface for multi-axis with removable personality parameters.
