The 6445-001-k-n is a microstepping drive manufactured by Pacific Scientific for the 6410 Stepper Drives series. Designed for motion axes that require fine incremental positioning, the unit converts logic-level step pulses into controlled phase currents that energize two-phase stepper motors in packaging, material-handling, or small CNC equipment. An internal single-phase rectifier allows direct connection to either 120 VAC or 240 VAC mains, so no external transformer is required to produce the regulated DC bus. This arrangement simplifies power distribution while supporting precise control of motor speed and position.
The rated input can be either 120 VAC or 240 VAC, and the drive generates an internal bus voltage of 66 VDC to energize the motor windings. The current waveform is pulse-width modulated at 20 kHz, keeping audible noise low while maintaining torque linearity. The peak phase current reaches 7.1 A, while continuous operation is limited to 5.0 A RMS to protect the motor insulation. Microstepping resolution is selectable down to 1/250 of a full step, reducing mid-band resonance in precision stages. The maximum input current is 5.0 A RMS, and the supported line frequency is 60 Hz with a 120 VAC supply or 50 Hz with a 240 VAC supply.
