Designed for two-phase hybrid stepper motors, it converts logic-level step and direction commands into controlled phase currents, allowing repeatable positioning in assembly cells, small conveyors, and laboratory instruments. Current regulation is accomplished with a switching frequency of 20 kHz, which helps keep audible noise low and smooths motor torque. Incoming step pulses are digitally filtered to 500 kHz, reducing jitter caused by contact bounce or electrical noise before the pulse train is processed. For dynamic axes, the power stage can deliver up to 7.1 A peak per phase while staying within its heat-sink limits.
