As a single-axis microstepping controller, it supplies regulated current to two-phase hybrid steppers so that indexing tables, pick-and-place heads, or feeders execute incremental motion with repeatable accuracy in automated assembly lines. By converting step commands from a PLC into phase currents, the unit delivers higher torque density than open-loop voltage drivers while keeping motor vibration low during ramping.
The drive’s bipolar current loop is modulated by a chopper running at 20 kHz, a frequency high enough to shift switching noise beyond the audible band and to ensure fine current granularity inside the motor windings.
