Product Description:
The MIV06DB-1-B1 is an Okuma inverter unit offered in the MIV Servo Drives series. It interfaces with the CNC control to energize a BL or PREX servo motor, supplying three-phase U, V, and W power for closed-loop motion tasks in machining centers and similar automated equipment. By receiving a regulated DC link from the shared spindle supply, the unit modulates current and voltage so one axis can accelerate, decelerate, and hold its commanded position. This arrangement allows the host controller to coordinate motor movement with the other machine functions while the inverter manages the electrical output to the connected axis.
The drive governs a single axis through its one-channel configuration, and all logic circuits are powered by a dedicated 24 VDC control supply. The power stage draws from a common 300 VDC bus and converts that energy into a maximum L-side output of 6.0 kW. A speed monitor scale of 1562 rpm/V provides proportional tachometer feedback, allowing the CNC to observe actual shaft velocity through an analog input. The inverter uses an ICB1 control board and supports both BL and PREX motors without additional option cards. Phase outputs are presented on DCA and DCB terminals fitted with connector type 1-178137-2, keeping high-current routing separate from the internal logic harness.
The unit has a height of 380 mm, a width of 100 mm, and a depth of 325 mm, allowing installation in compact cabinet layouts while maintaining airflow around the heat sink. Torque can be checked through a monitor port with a full-scale level of 3 V; this signal helps compare load demand with the drive’s available capability. Field wiring uses a TE Connectivity 1-179276-2 connector for the AC input, a 53460-0611 SR connector for serial data, and a D02-M15SAG-13L9 EPG plug for encoder power. Each circuit mates with a keyed plug, which helps prevent cross-connection during maintenance and keeps the power, serial-data, and encoder-power paths organized inside the cabinet.
