Okuma is an international engineering firm that designs high quality motion control systems.
The MIV06-3-V1 is a state-of-the-art inverter system that is installed with the Okuma motion control system (MCS). A DC power supply unit is also connected with the system for power supply. The inverter unit can drive the spindle motors and axis drive motors. The inverter unit (MIV) relates to the peripheral with various subsystems. The MIV unit is powered with the DC power supply unit that supplies 3000 VDC and 24 VDC (control power). The MIV unit establishes a connection with the peripherals with the help of an encoder link, a servo link, and a converter link. The inverter unit consists of an internal cooling fan and an external cooling fan for fast heat dissipation. A power device and a power control unit are also provided with the unit.
The MIV06-3-V1 is enclosed in a unit case and an inverter control board is housed inside the unit casing. This model shows the operating status of a 7-segment LED that is provided in front of the unit. There are two display modes available with this model which consist of the normal display mode and an alarm status display mode. The 7 segments LED system displays an error number at the occurrence of an alarm which is displayed to ascertain the cause of the system error. The inverter unit has an L side power capacity of 3 kW. This model is integrated with a VAC motor where the motor type can have a rated power between 2.2 kW to 3.7 kW. The MIV also comes with an inbuilt control board for controlling the spindle motor.
