The MIV03-1-P inverter unit is manufactured by Okuma as part of the MIV Servo Drives series. The unit functions as a servo drive, interfacing between a motion controller and a servo motor to regulate torque, speed, and position within automated machine tools and material-handling stations. By processing real-time feedback from attached encoders, it delivers precisely timed current to the motor phases. This control supports coordinated movement for consistent machining accuracy and repeatable production cycles.
This model supports one axis. Its L-side power stage is rated for a continuous output of 3.0 kW, matching midrange spindle or feed axes that require stable torque during prolonged cuts. Control electronics are energized by a separate 24 VDC supply, isolating low-level logic from the main bus. The power section draws energy from a shared DC link of 300 VDC, which simplifies cabinet wiring and permits energy exchange between multiple drives on the same rail. Command and diagnostic data move through dedicated servo, encoder, and converter links.
