Product Description:
The MIV03-1-B3 inverter unit is manufactured by Okuma as part of the MIV Servo Drives series. Designed for machine-tool automation, this single-axis drive conditions DC bus power for a connected servo motor and exchanges real-time data with the CNC through dedicated communication links. It serves as the power interface between the converter, motor encoder, and motion controller, allowing closed-loop velocity and position regulation inside an Okuma machining center.
This model supports 1 controlled axis and receives logic power from a 24 VDC control supply, while the main power circuit is fed by a 300 VDC bus generated by the upstream converter. On the left side of a dual-drive rack, it can deliver up to 3.0 kW to the connected motor. The internal processor can be assigned one of five addresses using the controller ID switch, enabling multiple units to share common communication backplanes. Command and feedback data flow through dedicated servo, encoder, and converter communication links. Motion execution can use the Velocity, Tool Path, or Positioning modes to match the required machine movement. Two selectable display modes provide either code readout or real-time status information, while the 380 mm housing height matches the available space in compatible Okuma control cabinets.
Operational feedback is provided by a 7-segment LED mounted on the front panel, where operating codes and status information remain visible while the unit is installed. The housing measures 60 mm wide and has a mounting depth of 325 mm, allowing the drive to fit into narrow vertical slots without obstructing adjacent modules. Its installed mass is 5.7 kg, which supports stable mounting and helps limit movement caused by vibration inside the enclosure. Front-accessible indicators permit operating conditions and fault codes to be observed without disconnecting the drive or removing neighboring modules.
