Product Description:

The MIV0204A-1-B5 is a MIV inverter dual-axis servo drive unit in the Okuma motion control system (MCS). Typically, this unit is intended to drive spindle/axis drive motors. It features an ICB1 integrated control board used explicitly for motor control. This unit is powered by a 300 Volts and 24 Volts (DC) control power supply unit. Also, this model is best suited for use with BL motors and PREX motors from Okuma. The control ROM type of this motor inverter is 5.

The MIV0204A-1-B5 features two-axis control specifications. Furthermore, the L-side (axis 1) unit capacity of this model is 2 kW (2.67 hP), and its M-side (axis 2) unit capacity is 4 kW (5.36 hP). By design, this unit is embedded with a large-capacitance capacitor. This MIV unit weighs about 7.8 kg (17.2 lb), and its external dimensions are 380 mm × 100 mm × 325 mm.

The operating status of the MIV0204A-1-B5 is indicated by a 7-segment LED on its front panel, with each segment having a distinct meaning. It features an alarm system mode and normal operation status mode – both displayed on the LED. In addition, the LED also shows an error code to help an operator decipher the cause of an alarm. The alarm code indicated on the LED can display anything from converter link error to inverter overheat, encoder error, absolute scale error, resolver error, etc. Generally, MIV units must be properly shut down before replacing them. Also, it is recommended that their charge indicator goes off for at least two minutes before replacement. To ensure safe operations, the software and control board of the replacement unit must match the previous one.
