The MIV0203-1-B5 inverter axis module is manufactured by Okuma for the MIV Servo Drives series. Acting as the interface between the power supply and the machine's rotary actuators, it modulates voltage and frequency so that commanded torque, speed, and position loops can be executed with high fidelity in CNC machining centers and similar automated equipment. The module houses two power stages labeled L and M, allowing one frame to drive both feed-axis and spindle motors from a shared DC link while minimizing panel space. This arrangement also lets the control system distribute DC-bus energy across the paired channels as load demand shifts during operation.

The internal control logic is realized on the ICB1 inverter control board, which contains the PWM gate drivers, current sensors, and signal interfaces needed for real-time vector control. The L channel is rated for a continuous mechanical output of 2.67 hp, equivalent to 2.0 kW, which suits smaller feed axes that need moderate torque without an oversized drive section.
