It functions as a bidirectional power stage that takes the shared DC link voltage from the machine tool’s power supply and synthesizes three-phase output for servo axes. This conversion supplies finely regulated current to position loops, enabling coordinated spindle and feed motion in CNC machining centers. Its two independent output channels allow one enclosure to support both small and medium loads while reducing cabinet space in multi-axis installations.
The left channel is intended for lighter loads and is rated at 1.33 hp, which corresponds to 1.0 kW of continuous mechanical power that can be delivered to the motor shaft. This side accepts either a BL motor or PREX motor connection, so the drive can pair with legacy or high-efficiency Okuma servomotors. Parameter storage is handled by the controller’s Standard ROM 1, so axis tuning data remains available after power cycling. Gate timing, current loops, and protection logic are processed on the dedicated ICB1 inverter control board installed in the unit base.
The right channel is dimensioned for heavier motion and supports up to 4 hp or 3.0 kW, making it suitable for turret drives or moderate spindles that draw higher surge current during acceleration. Because power limits are separated by channel, thermal load is distributed across the heat sink and the controller can run continuous duty without derating.
