The MIV01-1-B3 is an inverter unit built by Okuma for the MIV Servo Drives series. Designed for BL/PREX servo motors, it converts energy from a shared DC bus into regulated three-phase voltage and current for precise motion control. The module occupies one cabinet slot and supports positioning duties in CNC machining centers, including feed axes that require controlled acceleration, deceleration, and holding torque. Its narrow housing conserves cabinet space while directing cooling air along neighboring power modules. The single-channel design also keeps motor regulation and fault monitoring within one compact unit.
The drive supervises 1 axis, so its internal regulator and current sensors are dedicated to one motor channel. The control electronics draw 24 VDC from the machine’s auxiliary supply, allowing the gate drivers and diagnostic indicators to remain powered when the main bus is de-energized. The power section receives energy from a shared 300 VDC bus, which permits neighboring inverters to exchange energy during regenerative braking. Its continuous output capacity is rated at 1.0 kW, making the unit suitable for compatible medium-frame BL/PREX servomotors used on machine feed axes. The housing has a frontal width of 60 mm, allowing multiple modules to be installed close together without occupying excessive panel space. The aluminum frame weighs 5.7 kg and uses external fins to transfer heat to the cabinet airflow. Adequate clearance around the ventilation path helps prevent neighboring modules or wiring ducts from obstructing heat removal during continuous operation.
