Product Description:

The SSU-RD is a compact and efficient servo drive that belongs to the MDU Servo Drives, designed by Okuma for motion control applications.

Designed to give regulated resistance while rotating, this damper increases the accuracy and stability in mechanical motions. It runs with a right-hand rotation direction with the maximum rotation angle of 120°, which makes it suitable for applications utilizing small angular displacement and controlled deceleration. The SSU-RD produces a uniform torque of 0.15 N·m, providing for frictionless and damped rotation. Due to a fast response time of less than or equal to 0.3 seconds, the damper is very responsive and helps control vibrations and motion. It has withstanding operating temperatures between -10°C and +50°C and a storage temperature range of-20°C to +60°C, meaning reliability in different environments. Durable polycarbonate (PC) has been used in the construction of the housing to provide lightweight strength and impact resistance; the shaft has been made of POM (Polyoxymethylene), a low-friction material with excellent dimensional stability.

The entire unit weighs about 7 g, thus making it a very lightweight device, which can easily be incorporated into small systems. It uses screw mounting installation techniques for the easy and secure fixing. The lubricant inside the damper is silicone oil, with a constant damping performance over time. The servo drive is rated for withstanding at least 50,000 operating cycles, showing long-term durability. It also allows allowable radial as well as axial loads of up to 2N each; hence makes it capable of reliable operation with moderate mechanical stress. It can be purchased at Wake Industrial with a one-year warranty.
