The ER-JE-7200D is a single-turn absolute encoder manufactured by Okuma and positioned in the Absolute Encoders series. It mounts directly on a motor or machine axis to convert mechanical rotation into a digital code that represents the shaft’s exact position. Because it supplies absolute feedback, the controller can resume motion immediately after an interruption without executing a reference search, reducing downtime in CNC tooling centers, automated pallet systems, and similar industrial motion platforms.

The encoder’s electronics are Top Mounted, meaning the signal-processing board sits above the sensing disk and keeps heat-generating components away from the shaft bearing region. A Cylindrical body form lets the unit slide into a concentric bore so radial alignment can be set with minimal fixturing. Interface pads are presented as Edge Contacts, a layout that permits direct mating with a ribbon or flex PCB for shorter signal paths and reduced connector bulk.
