The YSM323 is a flexible and extremely accurate brushless servo motor designed by highly trained engineers of Kollmorgen Engineering Company. The motor features a unique housing design that guarantees a high-performance standard and operation accuracy of about 95 per cent under normal operation conditions. The motor does not feature an air blower; its housing temperature is maintained within an optimal range through a combined process of Natural convection, conduction, and thermal radiation. The motor housing is covered in a black varnish, which provides reliable protection against the destructive effect of corrosive liquids such as dilute acids, dilute alkali, and mineral oil. The housing of this motor is able to withstand all types of solid foreign interference with an external diameter higher than 1 millimeter.
The YSM323 industrial servo motor can function optimally in a different type of environments; it can also withstand environmental temperatures that fall between 0 to about 40 degrees Celsius. The maximum permissible relative humidity for the operation of this industrial motor is about 95 per cent. This industrial motor is one of the largest in the YSM motor family; it has a length of about 140 millimeters; however, if it is equipped with a holding brake, this length is about 180 millimeters. The diameter of the motor is also measured to be about 80 millimeters.
The output shaft of this motor design can comfortably support radial loads as high as 35 kilograms and axial loads of about 20 kilograms. For motor series connected to a holding brake, the brake generates a torque of about 2.38 newton meters. This motor requires a power cable and motor feedback cable for optimum operation. These two electrical cables are not part of the motor's delivery package; they have to be ordered separately by operators.
