The M.1015.6970 is a brushless servo motor produced by Kollmorgen within the YSM Brushless Servo Motors series. Designed for closed-loop motion platforms, the unit converts drive current into tightly regulated rotary torque for indexing tables, pick-and-place axes, and similar automation stages. Its electromechanical package combines feedback, torque production, and holding capability so machine builders can synchronize speed and position with millisecond precision across repetitive duty cycles.
During continuous steady-state operation, the motor can deliver 0.35 Nm of stall torque without exceeding its thermal limits, while a short-term demand of up to 0.97 Nm covers acceleration peaks before the control loops settle. Shaft speed is limited to 4500 rpm, a ceiling that preserves bearing life and prevents the back EMF from reaching the 115 V winding rating. Dynamic torque is generated through a sinusoidal torque constant of 0.11 Nm/A, slightly lower than the square-wave figure of 0.12 Nm/A, giving drives a clear relationship between commanded current and mechanical output. The magnetic circuit couples to a rotor inertia of 0.0000051 kg-m², allowing the axis to change velocity quickly without overshoot.
