Product Description:
The XSM165-95-402-S-2KA is a servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen for the XSM Centurion Servo Motors series. Built on a 165 mm frame, the motor is intended for closed-loop speed and position control in automated machining cells, palletizers, and material-handling axes. SinCoS feedback supplies high-resolution rotor position data for commutation and motion control. The shaft has a machined keyway that provides positive engagement with compatible couplings, pulleys, and pinions.
The motor has a maximum rated speed of 4000 rpm and can deliver up to 95 lb-in of continuous torque within its thermal limits. Its torque constant is 0.54 Nm/A, requiring approximately 1.85 amperes of current for each newton-meter of commanded torque. The voltage constant of 65 V/krpm relates back EMF to shaft speed and assists with selection of a suitable 230 V power stage. A 24 VDC holding brake adds 2.03 inches to the motor’s overall length and secures the shaft when motor power is removed. The housing accepts mounting bolts with a thread engagement depth of 22 mm. Radial loading of up to 100 kg is permitted at 2000 rpm, allowing properly aligned belt and pulley systems to apply tension without exceeding the bearing load limit.
The rotor has an inertia of 0.00078 kg-m², supporting rapid indexing without imposing unnecessarily high acceleration demands on the drive. Phase inductance is 7.0 mH, which affects the rate at which winding current changes in response to drive commands. Phase resistance is 0.4 Ω, and this value contributes to steady-state copper losses and winding heat during operation. The shaft can withstand an axial thrust of up to 30 kg at 2000 rpm, providing capacity for screw-driven actuators and other applications that apply force along the shaft axis. Couplings and pinions must remain correctly aligned so radial and axial forces stay within their respective limits. A compatible servo drive can use the feedback signals to regulate torque, speed, and position while controlling the brake during stopping and holding operations.
