Product Description:
The XSM165-95-402-M-2KA servo motor is produced by Kollmorgen within the XSM Centurion Servo Motors series. With a frame size of 165, it provides closed-loop motion for conveyors, pick-and-place axes, and other industrial automation equipment. Multi-turn feedback supplies absolute position data, allowing the connected drive to determine the rotor position after power is restored without requiring a new homing cycle.
In continuous service, the motor provides 95 in-lb of torque, while its peak torque reaches 24.3 Nm for rapid indexing and acceleration. A torque constant of 0.54 Nm/A provides a predictable relationship between commanded current and motor output, while the back EMF constant of 65 V/kRPM supports controlled regenerative behavior. The stator is designed for a 230 V supply, and its winding inductance of 7.0 mH helps limit current ripple during switching. The motor reaches a rated speed of 4000 rpm, making it suitable for applications that require moderate torque across a broad operating range.
The axial thrust capacity is 49 kg, while the permissible radial load is 100 kg at 2000 rpm, allowing the shaft to support loads from pulleys, belts, or direct couplings. The holding brake operates at 24 VDC and secures the load when motor power is removed. Adding the brake increases the motor’s overall length by 2.03 in, so the surrounding installation must provide sufficient axial clearance. Electrical losses are affected by a winding resistance of 0.4 Ω, which contributes to heat generation as current rises. Mounting fasteners can engage the housing to a thread depth of 22 mm, accommodating commonly used metric bolts. The motor uses a shaft with a keyway, providing positive torque transmission and secure alignment with compatible couplings.
