Product Description:
The XSM130-74-282-S-2AA is a servo motor produced by Kollmorgen for the XSM Centurion Servo Motors series. It is built for closed-loop industrial automation tasks that require precise rotary positioning and rapid velocity changes. By combining a 130 mm frame with integrated SinCoS feedback, the motor supplies accurate shaft-position data to compatible drives, allowing machine controllers to synchronize multiple axes without external encoders. This feedback arrangement also helps the drive regulate torque and speed as operating loads change.
Under continuous duty, the motor can produce 8.4 N·m of torque at a rated speed of 2800 rpm. Its 230 V winding has a resistance of 1.2 ohms and an inductance of 12.0 mH, supporting controlled current delivery from the servo drive. An optional holding brake operates from a dedicated 24 VDC supply and secures the shaft when motion is stopped. When selected, the brake adds 1.91 inches to the overall motor length. The output uses a smooth shaft without a keyway, providing flexibility when installing a clamping coupling. An M8 × 1.25 mm shaft thread extends to a depth of 19 mm for mechanical attachment. The unit weighs 7.3 kg, has an axial thrust capacity of 51 kg, and supports a radial load of 105 kg at 1000 rpm. Its compact bearing span supports these loads while preserving the motor’s installation envelope.
For dynamic events, the motor can generate up to 20.3 N·m of peak torque, helping the connected axis overcome system inertia during rapid acceleration. The rotor has a moment of inertia of 0.00038 kg·m², which affects acceleration response and drive tuning. Electrical conversion is supported by a torque constant of 0.73 N·m/A, allowing commanded current to produce predictable shaft torque. The back electromotive force has a voltage constant of 92 V/krpm, which allows a compatible drive to account for generated voltage as shaft speed increases. These electrical characteristics support stable current regulation during changes in speed and load.
