Product Description:
The XSM130-73-304-S-0AA is an AC servo motor produced by Kollmorgen and supplied within the XSM Centurion Servo Motors series. It is intended for precision motion tasks in automated machinery. A compatible drive amplifier commands the stator windings to generate controlled shaft torque and speed for positioning, indexing, and other closed-loop motion applications.
The motor delivers a continuous stall torque of 8.2 Nm, and sustaining that load requires a continuous stall current of 6.7 A from the drive. A torque constant of 1.49 Nm/A provides a predictable relationship between current and output torque for closed-loop control. The windings are rated for 460 V, and the shaft reaches a nominal speed of 3000 rpm under the rated supply conditions. Beyond the corner speed of 2000 rpm, the available torque decreases as the back EMF rises toward the voltage constant of 180 V/krpm. Electrical losses are influenced by a phase resistance of 4.2 ohms. An eight-pole rotor is installed inside a 130 mm square frame, providing a compact mechanical profile for industrial machinery. SinCos feedback reports absolute rotor position to the drive, supporting accurate commutation and position control. The shaft has no keyway, so torque must be transferred through a suitable clamping coupling or another compatible connection.
During acceleration or rapid load changes, the motor can supply a peak torque of 20.3 Nm. Speed transients are moderated by a rotor inertia of 0.00041 kg-m², providing a balance between responsiveness and mechanical damping. The winding inductance is 41 mH, which smooths current ripple when the drive applies high-frequency modulation. The assembly weighs 7.3 kg, providing thermal mass for continuous-duty operation and establishing the load that the mounting structure must support. Because the motor has no integrated brake, the axis must rely on drive torque or an external clamp to maintain its position when power is removed. The standard configuration uses the base coating, winding, and cooling arrangement for this motor series.
