Product Description:
The XSM130-53-402-S-2AA is a brushless servo motor produced by Kollmorgen as part of the XSM Centurion Servo Motors series. Built for dynamic duty cycles, the unit converts electrical power from a 230 V three-phase supply into controlled mechanical rotation for conveyors, pick-and-place actuators, and similar automation axes. A 130 mm square frame houses the stator, while SinCos feedback mounted at the rear provides absolute rotor position data to the drive. This feedback allows the position, velocity, and torque loops to remain tightly synchronized during operation.
The winding set supports a rated speed of 4000 rpm, providing a wide motion range without gearbox multiplication. Continuous shaft output is 53 in-lb of torque, while transient overloads can reach a peak torque of 13.5 Nm for rapid acceleration. Torque production is proportional to current through a constant of 0.48 Nm/A, allowing the drive to predict load response from direct current commands. A back EMF constant of 62 V/krpm indicates the voltage produced while the motor is spinning, which helps determine regenerative braking settings and cable insulation requirements.
The standard windings are rated for 230 V operation. Their electrical response is influenced by a phase inductance of 7.6 mH and a phase resistance of 0.88 ohms, which affect current ripple and thermal rise. The laminated rotor has an inertia of 0.00027 kg·m², balancing rapid response with stable velocity under load. Radial bearing capacity reaches 97 kg at 1000 rpm, allowing the motor to withstand belt tension or pulley side loads without premature bearing wear. An optional 24 V friction brake engages when power is removed and adds 1.91 inches to the motor’s overall length. When installed, the brake is energized through a control line at 24 VDC. A smooth shaft without a keyway terminates in an M8 × 1.25 mm thread that is 19 mm deep, allowing positive hub retention.
