The XSM115-53-502-M-0AA is a spectacular three-phase brushless servo motor designed by Kollmorgen under the XSM motor product line. Compared to traditional servo motors, brushless motors generate less noise during operation and offer a greater degree of reliability. Since traditional motors depend on the carbon brush contacts to deliver electric current, sparking frequently occurs. In sensitive and flammable environments, sparking can cause issues. With brushless motors like the XSM115-53-502-M-0AA, however, sparking seldom happens since the commutation of the moving parts depend on digitally encoded signals. To operate properly, this servo motor must always be connected with a digital amplifier.
