Product Description:
The XSM100-27-504-M-0AA is a brushless servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen for the XSM Centurion Servo Motors series. The motor has a frame size of 100, giving it a diameter suitable for mid-range machine frames. In automated cells, it supplies precise rotary motion for tooling, conveyors, and pick-and-place heads while responding to commands from a compatible servo drive.
Under continuous duty, the motor produces 3.1 Nm of torque and can operate at speeds up to 5000 rpm. During acceleration, it can produce a peak torque of 7.9 Nm. The winding has a phase-to-phase inductance of 42 mH and a resistance of 7.5 Ω, which moderate the rise in current. The electromagnetic design provides a torque constant of 0.79 Nm/A and a back-EMF constant of 96 V/krpm for operation with compatible servo inverters. A rotor inertia of 0.00008 kg·m² supports rapid changes in speed during positioning cycles. The motor does not have a brake, so the drive or an external mechanism must provide holding torque while the axis is stationary. Its plain shaft has no keyway and mates with friction or shrink-fit couplings.
The windings can withstand a dielectric test voltage of 2350 V, while the nominal line connection is 460 V. The maximum radial side load is 69 kg at 1000 rpm, and the maximum axial thrust load is 25 kg. The assembly weighs 3.7 kg, which reduces the load placed on the machine structure during mounting. An M5 × 0.8 mm center thread with a depth of 12.5 mm provides full engagement for compatible drawbars or pullers. The integrated multi-turn encoder retains absolute position information through power cycles, allowing the control system to recover the shaft position without repeating a homing sequence. The absence of a keyway requires the coupling to maintain sufficient clamping force during acceleration, deceleration, and load reversals.
