Internal Product Review
The VLM32H-CLN2-00 is a Kollmorgen VLM servo motor with a NEMA 34 metric frame size and metric mounting for straightforward machine integration. A 2048 PPR digital encoder paired with an unterminated shielded cable supports clean feedback and practical cabinet-side termination. The no-brake configuration and H winding code make the motor a strong choice for responsive servo applications.

Product Description:
The VLM32H-CLN2-00 is a brushless servo motor built by Kollmorgen for the VLM Brushless Motors series. Within an automation cell, it converts electrical power from a drive into controlled rotary motion for indexing tables, small conveyors, or pick-and-place axes where moderate torque and repeatable movement are priorities. The motor’s mechanical envelope follows VLM series conventions for mounting and drive integration, allowing it to fit machinery designed around compatible products from the same line.
The motor is supplied with no brake, so the drive or an external holding device must secure the load whenever power is removed. Installation wiring is simplified by a factory-attached 1-meter cable; this fixed length suits short cabinet runs while avoiding excess slack inside the machine frame. The conductors exit the housing through an unterminated shielded cable, allowing connectors to be added for the selected drive and I/O layout. Rotor position is reported through a 2048 PPR digital encoder, giving the controller 8,192 counts per revolution when quadrature decoding is enabled and supporting precise velocity control. The motor body fits either a NEMA 34 frame or a 90 mm metric frame, so it can attach directly to compatible gearboxes or mounting plates without adapter rings.
The motor uses a metric face-mounting pattern, which aligns with ISO fastener sets used on linear stages and indexing equipment. The rotor contains two magnetic stacks that increase its active length for higher continuous torque compared with a single-stack design. The shaft and flange geometry follow the series’ C code, which indicates key dimensions such as the pilot diameter and keyway depth for consistent power transmission. Electrical performance follows winding profile H, which balances current draw and back EMF for applications using drives with a 320 VDC bus. This winding and encoder arrangement supports closed-loop operation across the motor’s intended speed range while preserving accurate position feedback during acceleration and deceleration.
