The VLM32H-ALNR-00 is a brushless servo motor produced by Kollmorgen and assigned to the VLM Brushless Motors series. Acting as the electromechanical interface between a servo drive and the load, it converts commanded current into rotary motion with high repeatability. The unit is intended for positioning in packaging, light assembly, and material-handling cells where moderate inertia and continuous duty are required. Because it is a brushless design, commutation is handled electronically by the paired drive rather than by mechanical brushes. That arrangement reduces wear-related maintenance and supports stable speed control during repeated motion cycles.
A built-in resolver delivers analog rotor position feedback that the drive uses for commutation without relying on optical encoders. The motor is supplied with no brake, so power-off holding torque must come from the drive or an external clamp. Its frame conforms to NEMA 34 or 90 mm metric mounting standards, providing an 86–90 mm square flange that fits common machine interfaces. The magnetic circuit uses 2 stacks, which increase active length and raise continuous torque compared with single-stack models. The winding uses the H code, which is suited to the higher bus voltages used in 230 V class servo amplifiers.
A factory-installed 1 meter cable exits the stator housing and reaches nearby junction boxes without additional extensions. The lead is an unterminated shielded cable, so the required power and feedback connectors can be attached while electromagnetic shielding is retained. The cable exits directly from the motor body, which helps when space around the rear face is limited. The housing is prepared for metric flange screws, aligning with standard ISO bolt patterns on gearheads and machine frames. Drive torque is transferred through shaft code A, which indicates a plain shaft configuration that accepts common couplings. Shielding also helps reduce electrical noise in nearby control wiring during servo operation. The plain shaft is suited to clamp-style hubs and similar coupling types used on compact axes.
