The VLM23D-ALNR-00 is a brushless servo motor built by Kollmorgen within the VLM Brushless Motors series. As a VLM servo motor, it combines permanent-magnet rotor technology with compact construction to provide position and speed control for general-purpose automation tasks such as indexing tables, material-handling axes, or auxiliary packaging stations. In a control loop, the motor receives current from a compatible drive and converts it into torque, allowing precise coordination with sensors, actuators, and PLC-based control systems.
Electrical signaling and motion feedback are handled by a resolver, whose analog sine-cosine outputs supply rotor angle information to the drive. For cabling, the motor is supplied with a 1 meter cable that exits the stator housing through an unterminated shielded cable, leaving connector selection open for cabinet wiring. Because the unit has no brake, stopping torque must be supplied by the drive or by external mechanical means. The mechanical envelope conforms to a NEMA 23 (60 mm) frame size, so it aligns with standard 57 mm mounting patterns commonly used across stepper and servo platforms.
