The TBM-7615-B is a frameless permanent-magnet motor kit produced by Kollmorgen within the TBM Frameless Motors series. When integrated into a machine’s mechanical structure, the stator and rotor pair deliver direct-drive torque without belts or gear reductions, a layout that minimizes backlash in industrial automation axes such as gimbals, semiconductor stages, or collaborative robot joints. By allowing the rotor to mount directly to the load and the stator to fit into the housing, the assembly keeps weight low and improves dynamic response. This format also supports compact axis layouts where a conventional housed motor would add unnecessary length or coupling compliance.
Electrical performance is based on a supply of 24 VDC, from which the drive reaches a rated mechanical speed of 2560 RPM. At that operating point, the motor can deliver a continuous stall torque of 0.918 N·m while drawing a continuous stall current of 11.7 Arms. The back electromotive force is proportional to speed, with a constant of 4.89 Vrms/kRPM, which helps the drive estimate velocity during operation. Low copper losses are supported by a DC resistance of 0.2 Ω at 25 °C and an inductance of 0.2 mH that shapes current ripple during PWM modulation.
