The Kollmorgen SS2000DP4 is a dual packaged translator / drive. It includes two independent stepper motor drives and their motor power supply in a single packaged unit. Each drive on the SS2000DP4 is a bipolar drive with adjustable speed, two-phase PWM circuit that uses hybrid power devices. Maximum speed of the SS2000DP4 is 3000 RPM. Control signals on the drive are optically isolated from the drive circuit to reduce electrical noise. The drive can be set to operate a step motor in microstep mode at 20,000 microsteps per revolution. The maximum motor speed is 3000 RPM. Features of the SS2000DP4 drive include selectable current levels from 0.5 to 3.5 Amps, short-circuit protection, transient overvoltage protection, overtemperature protection, optically isolated inputs, selectable step resolution and efficient thermal design.

The SS2000DP4 drive is designed for vertical mounting. The ambient temperature should be less than 70 degrees Celsius. A minimum of 2 inches of free space should be provided around the mounted drive. The SS2000DP4 should also be mounted at a minimum distance of three feet from any noise sources. Weight of the drive is 15 pounds, and its dimensions are 246 x 174 x 151 millimeters. The input rating of the SS2000DP4 drive is 115 / 230 Volts AC. The AC input current draw is 2.5 Amps at 115 Volts AC and 1.25 Amps at 230 Volts AC. The maximum heat dissipation is 70 Watts. The SS2000DP4 is compatible with Superior Electric M and KM series motors. The proper current setting to be used for compatible motors is listed in the product manual. Motor cables are available in 3 / 7.6 / 15.2 / 22.8-meter lengths. Indicator LED lights for power, fault and overtemperature are provided on the drive.
