Product Description:

As a member of the SS2000 SLO-SYN series, the Kollmorgen SS2000MD4-M is a compact, DC-powered stepper motor drive that is made for use in demanding motion control tasks.

Rated within a 24 to 40 VDC input voltage range, it offers increased flexibility to low-voltage systems. It offers plenty of current output, from 1.0A to 3.5A, in a variety of configurations, selectable through onboard switches to best fit a specific motor and load. It employs this power dissipation to 35 watts in maximum condition and ensures this case with a limited temperature of 70°C (158°F) to ensure the thermal performance under these conditions is effective. Its inner automatic current reduction feature also reduces the current to 50 percent at the standstill and will reduce heat and prolong the life of motors during nonoperation. With a running temperature spectrum of 0°C to 50°C and a storage temperature range of -40°C to 75°C, the device is built to withstand hostile conditions. It can function at a high altitude of 10,000 feet (3048 meters) and moderate up to 95% non-condensing humidity, making it suitable for usage in a variety of indoor manufacturing environments.

The unit has optically isolated inputs that interconnect to clean signals and short-circuit protection of phase-to-phase short, and phase-to-ground short, which creates a safer and reliable system. The physical dimension is significantly smaller as well, taking up only 1.56 x 4.13 x 3.25 inches (40 x 105 x 83 mm) with its 0.6 lbs (272 g) weight that suits well in a control cabinet where space is limited. It can be purchased at Wake Industrial with a one-year warranty.
