Product Description:
A member of the SS2000 SLO-SYN family, the Kollmorgen SS2000D3 is a diligent and reliable stepper motor drive.
It is designed to tightly regulate a 2-phase stepper motor in the majority of industrial automation applications. The power supply of the unit is through the usual 120 VAC input, but it works across 90-132 VAC. It works on a frequency of 50/60 Hz, so it is completely compatible with North American power systems. Internally, it is powered up on a 180 VDC bus and can handle motor current to 0.5-3 amps, which can be selected by switches on the board. This motion offers smooth motion control, making it suitable to applications that need fine positioning as it supports full-step, half-step, and high-resolution microstepping modes up to 50,000 pulses per turn. It is cooled to operate with Kollmorgen motors, including KML060 to KML091 and M 061 to 092, and it supports common NEMA 23 and 34 frame dimensions. SS2000D3 is designed with durability and security in mind and thus includes strong capabilities such as the phase-to-phase and phase-to-ground short-circuit protection, protection against under-connectivity, over-connectivity, and excessive heating.
It incorporates optically isolated input with the clean signal connectivity and automatic current cut-off at standstill to enhance the efficiency of motors and reduce heat accumulation. It is simple and also safe to mount because of its aluminum base, which helps to reduce excess heat. This drive is UL recognized (U.S. and Canada) and CE compliant, and satisfies major safety and performance requirements in most global markets. With full load, the maximum power dissipation is a convenient 35 watts, and so it is applicable in enclosed or thermally limited systems.
