Product Description:

The S6001 is a single-axis stepper drive manufactured by Kollmorgen as part of the SS2000 SLO-SYN Drives series. Designed for motion stages, cutters, and indexing tables, the unit converts incoming AC power and pulse commands into two precise phase currents that position a SLO-SYN motor accurately within automated equipment.

On the power side, the drive accepts line supplies at a nominal 50/60 Hz and no lower than 105 VAC; if the mains falls below 85 VAC an undervoltage fault is declared. Input current to the optically isolated step, direction, and enable lines ranges from a minimum of 6.5 mA to 15 mA, and the rising-edge trigger works with pulse streams processed at 1.25 MHz. Internally the rectifier develops a DC bus of 160 VDC, and the current regulator can deliver up to 6.0 A/phase to the motor windings during continuous operation.

Thermal and mechanical parameters complete the drive’s profile. When the baseplate reaches a heatsink temperature of 70 °C the unit initiates a controlled shutdown to protect the power stage. The maximum allowable mains level is 135 VAC, and pulse integrity is preserved provided each command pulse is at least 400 ns wide. A compact steel chassis only 5.9 in deep presents a 2.5 in by 9 in footprint, permitting installation in panels where space is at a premium.

Wake Industrial stocks the S6001 and can arrange same-day shipping for qualifying orders. Quotes issued for this drive remain valid for 30 days, simplifying budget approvals. Operators who need clarification on fault codes or step timing can use the free chat tool for general questions.
