The 6180-PI Drive is part of a renowned Kollmorgen precision automation SS2000 SLO-SYN series that combines robust design with advanced features. It ensures reliable performance across demanding industrial automation applications, with flexible integration and durable shaft sealing technology.
The SLO SYN drive provides feedback about the system's operational status with the inclusion of a LED indicator. It uses alternating current to operate which is typical in industrial applications where drives and controllers manage motors. It can dissipate heat with the heat sinks which is useful for regulating the temperature of the module by dissipating excess heat generated during operation. For safety it has a built in fuse which blows if there is an overcurrent condition and hence protects the internal components of the module in this way. To communicate with external systems it presents input and output ports which do data translation or signal conversion. To improve its industrial appearance it is placed in a small compact rectangular metal enclosure which is colored as black. To efficiently make connections with the motor it has a dedicated port for this purpose.
The SS2000 series module also contains cooling fins that are made of aluminum which provide additional surface area and hence further enhanced the heat dissipation process. Its system can be easily reset in case of faults or to access monitoring features with the presence of specified buttons. It can easily fit standard industrial equipment enclosures which makes it easy to integrate into existing systems. It can be mounted safely in a control cabinet and also in other industrial machinery which makes it stay in place during operation and remains protected from physical damage.
