In production cells, the motor’s magnetic circuit and lamination stack support repeatable motion without requiring elaborate feedback. Its totally enclosed, fan-cooled housing protects the windings from airborne oil and particulate contamination.
The motor is classified for SCR-rated duty, meaning its armature is designed for the pulsating DC produced by silicon-controlled rectifier converters. A TEFC enclosure keeps ambient air away from internal components and uses an external fan to remove surface heat, helping keep the continuous temperature rise within insulation limits.
