Product Description:
The SR3736-3162-7-56C is a DC motor produced by Kollmorgen within the SR and SRF Permanent Magnet Motors series. As a permanent-magnet unit, it converts electrical energy from an SCR drive into controlled mechanical torque for conveyors, material feeders, and other positioning tasks common in automated machinery. The C-face housing allows direct coupling to gear reducers or pumps, letting installers place the motor close to the driven load and reduce alignment errors. This arrangement also supports compact equipment layouts where the available space between the motor and driven component is limited.
The motor reaches a rated speed of 1750 rpm, supporting process lines that require steady shaft velocity without external feedback. Its 56C frame has a footprint and bolt pattern compatible with standard NEMA components. A TENV enclosure keeps contaminants out while relying on surface conduction to dissipate heat, so airflow from the surrounding area is not required. The mounting bolt circle measures 5.875 inches, and the shaft has a diameter of 0.6250 inch, providing adequate strength for moderate torque transmission through keyed couplings. For secure attachment, the face includes threaded holes tapped to 3/8-16 UNC-2B. The coarse thread pitch helps resist stripping during repeated installation and removal.
The motor is suitable for continuous duty, allowing indefinite operation at its rated load without scheduled cooldown periods. Its armature is rated for SCR drives, providing stable commutation when powered by silicon-controlled rectifier drives that supply a chopped DC waveform. As a permanent-magnet DC motor, it does not use field windings, which reduces its size and eliminates field-supply wiring. The 4.500-inch pilot diameter centers the motor on the mating flange to support accurate alignment with the connected equipment. A 0.188 × 1.38-inch key prevents the shaft and coupled hub from slipping relative to each other during torque transmission. The NEMA C-face mounting maintains concentric alignment between the motor shaft and the driven component in automated production equipment.
