In industrial automation, it delivers controlled rotary motion wherever a low-maintenance brush-type drive is required, such as indexing tables, light conveyors, or auxiliary pump stages. Its direct-current architecture simplifies speed regulation through basic thyristor or pulse-width modulation drives, allowing precise velocity control without the complexity of closed-loop AC systems. The commutator assembly and enclosed construction make the unit suitable for installation in locations where airflow is limited.
At its nominal electrical operating point, the motor accepts 180 VDC and draws 2.6 A. This input produces a shaft output of 0.5 HP at a rated speed of 1750 rpm under load.
