Product Description:
Kollmorgen manufactures the SR3622-4775-56C DC permanent-magnet motor within the SR and SRF Permanent Magnet Motors series. The unit converts direct-current energy into rotary motion suitable for variable-speed duties when paired with a thyristor drive. In automated material-handling lines, packaging equipment, or light conveyors, it delivers consistent torque while maintaining a compact footprint. Permanent magnets in the stator eliminate field-winding losses, so the machine offers stable performance during continuous industrial service where precise speed regulation is required.
The motor’s armature is designed for 90 VDC, so speed regulators scale their output to this nominal level under rated load. At that voltage, the winding draws 3.5 A, a current that guides conductor sizing and thermal calculations inside the control cabinet. Electrical input is converted into mechanical output rated at 1/3 HP, matching low-duty transport or metering tasks that do not need a full-horsepower drive. Output rotation stabilizes at 1750 rpm, a common base speed that pairs with standard gear reducers for processes operating below 100 rpm. Because the device has an SCR-rated design, its commutation system tolerates the ripple current and fast voltage edges produced by silicon-controlled rectifier supplies. A TENV enclosure fully surrounds the internal parts and relies on heat transfer through the housing rather than airflow through the motor for cooling.
Mechanical installation is simplified by the C-face mounting flange, which allows the motor to bolt directly to gear reducers or pump heads without separate foot adapters. The standardized 56C frame establishes the shaft height and pilot diameter, providing mounting dimensions consistent with other motion products in the same frame class. A removable base is included for foot mounting on skid plates. The base can be detached to lower the motor’s profile when installation space near the flange is limited. This mounting arrangement supports either flange installation or base mounting without requiring an additional foot-mounting adapter.
