Product Description:

The RO-20012-0001 is a brushless servo drive produced by Kollmorgen for the Silverline Brushless Servo Drives series. The unit converts low-level analog commands into three-phase power for permanent-magnet motors, supplying the precise torque and speed control required in automated assembly cells, material handlers, and packaging lines. By integrating the power stage, commutation electronics, and feedback supplies in one enclosure, it simplifies cabinet layouts and shortens wiring runs for machine builders.

The drive accepts a ±10 V analog command, and all digital inputs use 5 V TTL logic levels, allowing direct connection to PLC motion modules. Trapezoidal commutation sequences the motor phases using Hall sensors powered by a +6 V, 30 mA output. Continuous motor current is limited to 12.5 A, while short transients can reach 25 A for rapid acceleration. The internal bus is protected by a 195 VDC overvoltage threshold, and the power stage switches at 22 kHz to reduce audible noise. Under rated thermal conditions, the drive can deliver 2256 W of mechanical output. A dedicated +5 V, 50 mA encoder supply supports incremental feedback devices used for closed-loop velocity control.

The drive has a maximum power dissipation of 119 W, so adequate panel airflow is required at high ambient temperatures. To simplify diagnostics, the current monitor uses fixed scaling of 4.1 A/V at its test pin. Velocity feedback remains linear because the encoder frequency rises by 22 kHz/V at the monitor output. The drive supports loads with an inductance of at least 250 µH, which maintains current-loop stability at the selected switching rate. The aluminum housing measures 186.7 × 111.7 × 25.4 mm and weighs 680 g, allowing installation in dense multi-axis rack layouts.
