It supplies closed-loop rotary motion for positioning tables, pick-and-place heads, and other automated axes where repeatable torque and speed are essential. A square 3.44-inch frame, an 18-inch minimum lead set, and a 10-pin ribbon encoder interface are supplied so the motor can be wired directly to a Kollmorgen drive without adapter cables. The compact frame and integrated feedback connections support installation in automated machinery with limited mounting and cable-routing space.
The square frame dimension of 3.44 in establishes the side-to-side envelope that mates with standard NEMA brackets. The overall stack depth is 4.38 in, allowing the motor to fit into shallow machine compartments. Four tapped holes on a 3.875 in bolt circle center the housing and resist torsional loads. A stainless steel shaft with a diameter of 0.3750 in accepts keyed or compression couplings, and its axial runout is limited to 0.0015 in, reducing shaft-end wobble that could affect coupling alignment. Three 16 AWG power leads carry phase current, while five 26 AWG sensor leads route Hall and encoder signals. Both cable sets have a minimum length of 18 inches, allowing them to reach nearby junction points without splices.
The optical encoder delivers 1000 LPR of incremental resolution and produces channels A, B, and index in a differential A/B/I format, providing noise-resistant position data to the drive. Internal electronics operate from a regulated 5 VDC supply, so line-level power is not introduced into the feedback connector. Hall devices are spaced for 120° commutation, enabling six-step startup before the encoder supports closed-loop velocity control. The 10-pin ribbon connection organizes the encoder channels in a compact interface, while the separate motor and sensor leads keep phase-current wiring apart from low-voltage feedback conductors.
