Product Description:
The H-234-H-0802 is produced by Kollmorgen as part of the Silverline Brushless Servo Drives series. It is a compact brushless servo motor that converts DC bus energy into precise rotary motion for positioning, indexing, and velocity-regulated duties in automated machinery. When integrated into a closed-loop axis, the unit supplies feedback through an internal optical encoder so the associated controller can command acceleration, maintain setpoints, and limit mechanical overshoot.
The motor draws a continuous line current of 12.6 A DC and withstands a peak current of 30.5 A DC during fast acceleration. Its copper windings generate a continuous stall torque of 0.833 N-m and can reach a peak torque of 1.82 N-m during brief load surges. With a continuous power output of 351 W and a maximum line voltage rating of 250 Vrms, the motor fits moderate-power axes driven by 115–230 VAC converters. Electrical losses are limited by a DC resistance of 0.252 ohm, while the 0.52 mH phase inductance shapes the current rise time and influences drive tuning. A back-EMF constant of 7.89 Vpk/krpm indicates the voltage generated as speed increases, and the motor produces torque at a rate of 0.0663 N-m/A. Rated torque is 0.558 N-m during continuous motion. The incremental encoder supplies 1,000 LPR feedback for precise commutation and motion control.
The rated mechanical speed reaches 6,000 rpm, supported by a rotor inertia of 0.000023 kg-m², allowing rapid changes in direction with limited control effort. The motor has an overall length of 5.76 inches and weighs 1.27 kg, including the encoder, which makes it easier to mount on moving machine components. Its Silverline frame allows installation in densely packed multi-axis gantries where available space is limited. When the motor is paired with a suitable drive, its low inertia and encoder resolution support tight velocity loops. The back-EMF constant also provides predictable regenerative behavior during deceleration, allowing the drive to manage energy returned to the DC bus.
